The 1997 Approach

It's 1997, July 1st. Smart phones don't exist yet, only dumb ones with the snake game in them. Whatever, sitting in a cafe, it's a normal day for you and your friends. But one thing was different. Someone who looked intelligent and interesting just got in there, and for the first time, you had this wild thought: Why not approach her, she really looks cute. It seemed unusual at first, but you shrugged it off and thought, what could go wrong? It's just a normal chat, and she might be nice enough to reciprocate. Also, who doesn't want to have some fun at the end of the day? As you were thinking about all of this, you noticed that she was actually gazing at you and smiling. You smiled and thought, this's definitely it and decided to approach.

Clarification Points:

1. This event is unguided. You take responsibility for how to start the conversation, keep it going, and end it, which is duh for adults.

2. Women generally get approached. I mean, obviously.

3. If there's a difference in the men-to-women ratio, you'll just have to approach who is available and enjoy a chat. So, maybe coming early is an advantage here.

4. Each chat can last as long as you want unless the other participant ends it. So, we gotta learn how to capture and maintain each other's interest along the way. Not an added pressure, just something natural to keep in mind.
